Available Scholarships

The following scholarships are available to U.S. students.  Please note the term “bursaries” is our term for financial aid awards.

U.S. Grant ($1,700)

These entrance scholarships offer a guaranteed $1,700 award for first-year American students.  These scholarships are renewable for four years to a total of $6,800.

Merit-Based Awards ($1,500 – 4,500)

Students from the U.S. are also eligible for merit-based awards, which are renewable for four years ($6,000 – $18,000 total).

  • Directors Award:         $1,500
  • Honours Award:         $3,000
  • Excellence Award:      $4,500

These renewable scholarships are our largest awards, honoring academic achievement among incoming students. Renewable award recipients are selected primarily on the basis of academics, including:

  • Admission average (B average or higher)
  • Senior year coursework and level of difficulty
  • Rank in graduating class
  • Junior year record

Other selection criteria include letters of academic reference, scores on standardized tests (optional) and, for some awards, leadership qualities, extracurricular activities, and financial need.

Need-Based Financial Aid ($500 and up)

St. Thomas University offers Millennium Bursaries ($500 to $2,000) to students in financial need entering university for the first time.  To be considered for a Millennium Entrance Bursary, you must submit a letter to the Admissions Office outlining why you feel you qualify.

Loans
